Thanks, Claire. Okay, I’m thinking food craft. The planet has a really descriptive topography. Have you seen those scenes that people make completely out of food? http://listverse.com/2008/02/22/7-amazing-scenes-made-with-food/ Actually, number 1 looks like a scene from the book, at least how I imagined it. Now this might be expensive, but maybe you could do the same thing with clay, recycled materials, paper, etc. I can’t wait to see.

Well, thanks to your great review we have selected Out of the Silent Planet for our monthly book club. I am excited, but yet quite nervous! The same thoughts are running through my mind, what if I don’t understand, what if it is way over my head, and I have to help my daughter lead a thought provoking discussion? For those who know me should expect mispronounciations and blunders at every turn, but I don’t really know any of these ladies or their children! I could ruin any chance of impressing anyone, but as it is, that is best, as it would all be a lie anyway. So this is going to build heart towards God, and away from man. This is good, but I am still nervous! I have to come up with a craft related to the story! Any ideas? I am worse at crafting than I am at reading and understanding! The food I can handle, it is just all the rest.

Yes! We enjoyed Inkheart (the movie) but it did lack something. i just couldn’t put my finger on it.
I’ll get the City of Ember for my daughter, we missed the movie, but it sounds really good. And thanks for the idea to get 21 Balloons!

Thanks for the inspiration. I have been to her classes and figured out I’m not the only one that doesnt pick up quick but if we keep going we will get it with practice at home and repetition. Darlenes classes are alot of fun. Come and visit in Mt Juliet:)

Hi Heather,

I noticed your posting (a year ago) about doing email merges with Office 2007 and it would only send a couple at a time before Word freezes.

I’m having that same problem today. Did you ever find a solution?
